School of Integral Sensemaking & Action


 

What is it?

Integral Sensemaking & Action™ is a full service coaching school for organizational transformation, designed especially for organizational change agents and enterprise agile coaches. There are two primary components, Enterprise Coach Mastercamp and Transformation Mastery. Mastercamp is a 5-day program providing the deep Integral foundation for the work, lifting the coach’s vision from the team to the organizational level. It is a deep dive into the Integral Sensemaking & Action approach, helping students begin to apply it to their organizational challenges as well as themselves. Transformation Mastery is an advanced mastery cohort running over 8 months, that applies the Integral Sensemaking approach to each participant’s focal system, and helps the coach move to a mastery level with 10 core competencies.

  • Enterprise Coach Mastercamp

    When we coach teams, the basic distinctions of teaching/mentoring and professional coaching / facilitation (from the ACI Competency Model) are powerful and sufficient. As we move from teams to coaching organizations in Agile Transformations, however, everything changes: the stakes, the complexity, and the competencies required. Addressing this larger scope is not merely a matter of “scaling”.... it requires a whole new range of perspective-taking possibilities, and more complex ways of being, resulting in a new balance between mind, heart and spirit.

    In the Enterprise Coach Mastercamp, you will gain key skills and knowledge necessary to understand the factors that support (or inhibit) organizational change. The Integral approach (from Spayd's book, Agile Transformation) develops both individual and collective sensemaking, and offers practices and action-orientations that enable dynamical change. Along the way, you will experience a significant shift in your own inner capacity for meaning-making and capability to leaderfully catalyze change in complex environments. Bottom line: the course is both highly informative and personally transformative.

  • Transformation Mastery

    The domain of the enterprise transformation coach is vast, informed by a rich set of knowledge and practice traditions: complex adaptive systems, organization development, systems thinking, dynamical change, systemic management, systems coaching, and leadership development. Our challenge is to blend these traditions together into their practical application. Mastercamp can only open the door, while Transformation Mastery picks up the mantle to take these new perspectives into competent application, with a focus on mastery.

    This eight-month cohort program leverages unique transformational learning modalities (for which Michael Spayd and partners are well-known) that will help you learn and practice effective work with complex organizational systems, and come to a deeper understanding of the nature of systemic change. Even more than this, you will alter the inner landscape of who you are as an agent of transformational change, confronting the deep inner beliefs and stories that inhibit your capacity for authentic action and leadership.
